During May 15-18, 2020, your Zoom account will be moved to a new domain. After your account is moved, you will login to your Zoom account at https://umsystem.zoom.us. You will need to sign out of the Zoom App and sign back in using “Sign in with SSO” and use umsystem as the company domain.
What will stay the same:
You will continue to login with your campus username and password. You will continue to have a Pro account and your existing scheduled meetings and recordings will continue to be available to you.
What will change:
Zoom cloud recordings will be stored in your account for 180 days. After 180 days, the recordings are moved to a Trash folder where they remain for 30 days.
Moving your account early:
If you have meetings scheduled during the period May 15-18, you can move your account early. You should experience no disruption or disconnection if your account moves during an in-progress meeting, but if that is a concern, follow the steps at this guide to migrate your account to UM System Zoom anytime.
Instructors please take note:
- You may choose to have your Zoom recordings moved directly into Panopto. More information about this will be available here soon.
- Kaltura will no longer be available for automatically receiving and storing Zoom recordings. Users may instead opt in to moving their Zoom recordings to Panopto.
- If you move your account earlier than the systemwide migration May 15-18, you will need to switch the Zoom button in all of your Canvas course sites so that the UM System Zoom button is available to your students. Make this switch in Canvas by following this guide.
