Our team of instructional designers and instructional technologists are available to answer your questions and help you use technology to enhance the learning experience for your students and manage your workload as instructors.

Faculty Certification in Online Teaching and Learning (online asynchronous sessions)

Would you like to earn UMKC’s Certification in Online Teaching and Learning? We offer the certification course in three formats so you may select the delivery method that works best for you. In this free, four-week course format, you have the opportunity to try out tools for teaching with technology, explore aspects of pedagogy related to best practices in teaching and learning with technology, and create accessible course content. The course is asynchronous, which allows you to set your own pace during the month; the course is facilitated by either an instructional designer or instructional technologist to supoort you in your learning. Rubrics: Efficient Grading in Canvas at 9 a.m. CST (online synchronous session)

Rubrics can make assessing student work more transparent and much more efficient. This free, one-hour session is designed to provide you with an overview of the structure, purpose, and benefits of using rubrics. We also demonstrate how to create and use a rubric in Canvas. Creating an Accessible Syllabus at 10:00 a.m. CST (online synchronous session)

Do you want to learn more about how to make your Microsoft Word documents accessible to people with auditory, cognitive, neurological, physical, speech, and visual disabilities?
