Those who are looking to expand their Canvas knowledge base should attend the upcoming UMKC Summer Conference: Welcome to Canvas.
The conference will take place Friday, July 26th, at the Kauffman Conference Center, 4801 Rockhill Road.
Topics to be tackled include basic Canvas information as well as more nuanced sessions for those who are familiar with the LMS.
Instructors who have previously taught in Canvas and want to become more efficient in their workflow and communications with students can do so by utilizing the Canvas Teacher App, which will be discussed.
The “Facilitating Courses on the Go: Using the Canvas Teacher App to Accomplish Everyday Tasks in Canvas” session will go more in-depth on the Canvas mobile app. Craig Short, Instructional Technologist, said “This session will introduce instructors to features available in the Canvas Teacher mobile app that will allow many everyday tasks to be accomplished from a mobile device while on the go.” During the session, attendees will be able to explore three elements of the Canvas Teacher App: Inbox Conversations, Discussion Board Engagement, and SpeedGrader. “A brief discussion will be included on when to use Canvas desktop vs. mobile in your workflow,” Short said.
The Canvas Teacher App is available for both Android and iOS devices.
Registration to attend the conference is free and lunch will be provided to those who have registered. Reserve your space today: https://ecommerce.umkc.edu/onlineworkshops/home/workshopDetail/344
