As you adjust to a new teaching reality, the UMKC Libraries are here and ready to continue providing uninterrupted library services in our new, online environment. All library employees are working remotely to provide support for learning, research, and teaching. Here are a few of the ways that can support you and your students.
1. Locate readings for your courses
Now that your classes have moved online, do you need different readings to assign to your students? A librarian can assist with locating digital versions of readings, alternatives to print resources that are not currently accessible, or open educational resources that your students can access without any extra cost. Just let us know what you need!
2. Request digital materials
The Interlibrary Loan department is filling requests for articles, book chapters, and electronic versions of other items as usual, and even with the limitations of the current situation they have been able to fill the same percentage of requests as before. Place a request for a book chapter or journal article.
3. Recommend library services to your students
Do your students have more questions than usual about how to locate sources for their assignments? Send them to the library, virtually! UMKC librarians are here to help students with their library research by chat, text, email, or on a Zoom meeting.
