Hosting a Zoom Meeting – Instructor

Joining a Meeting

Click on the meeting link to join a Zoom meeting. You can find the link in either your Zoom account (, or the Zoom desktop client.

  • If you have installed the desktop client as in the Getting Started page, the meeting will automatically launch.
  • If you did not have the client installed, the meeting will open a browser window, and you’ll be prompted to install the Zoom launcher.
  • If you cannot install either the client or launcher, you can still start the the meeting from the browser.

See the Zoom Launcher Plug-in page for instructions if you have problems installing the launcher

Host Controls in a Meeting

You will be able to share audio/video, desktop and applications in the session. Other features include chat, record, breakout rooms, etc.

Check the Host Control Guide for explanations of the icons and instruction.

NOTE: Practice in a test meeting to get familiar with the features, and make sure your microphone and webcam are working.
