Getting Started – Instructors
Establish a Pro Zoom Account
You will need a Zoom Pro account to use in teaching. Follow the steps below to activate your account and get ready.
- Submit a UMKC Zoom Pro Account Request form online. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you did not receive a response after 2 work days.
- Download the Zoom desktop client on your computer. The desktop client allows you to manage meetings without logging into the UMKC Zoom website.
- After your account has been created, sign into https://umkc.zoom.us with your UMKC username and password.
IMPORTANT: Go to My Profile, click Edit in the Kaltura User Id field, and type in your UMKC username, then save change.
Recordings in your Zoom account will be deleted after 90 days. This step allows Zoom recordings to be automatically uploaded to Kaltura as an MP4 copy. Videos in Kaltura will not be automatically purged.
