Getting Started – Instructors

 Request for a Pro Account

You will need a Zoom Pro account to use in teaching. Follow the steps below to activate your account and get ready.

1.Submit a UMKC Zoom Pro Account Request form online. Contact if you did not receive a response after 2 work days.

2. After receiving the pro account invitation email, click the link in the email and sign in with your UMKC credentials.

3. Bookmark the UMKC Zoom website: on your browser. You will need to sign in to this site to start meetings as a host, unless you are using the Canvas Integration.

4. Optional. Download the Zoom desktop client on your computer. The desktop client allows you to manage meetings without logging into the UMKC Zoom website. 

IMPORTANT: Go to My Profile, click Edit in the Kaltura User Id field, and type in your UMKC username, then save change.

Recordings in your Zoom account will be deleted after 30 days. This step allows Zoom recordings to be automatically uploaded to the media storage in Canvas as an MP4 copy. See the instructions on how to publish a recording via Kaltura here.
