Using Blackboard Collaborate Ultra in Canvas for Students
This instruction is for students to access the Ultra version of Blackboard Collaborate in Canvas. Consult your instructor if your course have two Blackboard Collaborate links in the course menu.
Bb Collaborate Ultra is a browser-based conferencing tool, which does not require any installation of software or application. However, students are strongly suggested to review the Start with the Basics guide before joining an Ultra session for the first time.
A comprehensive student user guide can be found here.
Accessing a Session
Click the Bb Collaborate Ultra link in the navigation menu in your course.
You will see a Course Room on top of the page, and other sessions listed below if your instructors scheduled any individual meetings. Consult the instructor if you are unsure of which one to access.
Joining a Session
Click on the session name to see the “Join session” option. The session will open in a new browser tab.
Participating in a Session
Once the session is successfully opened in the browser window, you may be able to use video, audio and other features, depending on the instructor’s settings.
View the Find your way around sessions guide for detailed instructions.
If the instructor recorded a session and made it available to students, you will be able to access the recording by clicking on the menu button on the upper left, then Recordings.
