
Join UMKC Online for a virtual conference on Jan. 15, 2019, to explore the tools and techniques for teaching in the digital age.
One topic of interest at the virtual conference will be Critical Thinking, Canvas, and Research: Designing Thought Provoking Online Research Assignments by Mardi Mahaffy, Head of Teaching and Learning at the Miller Nichols Library. In her discussion, Mahaffy will discuss how effective library research involves not just clicking and searching in the right places, but also critical engagement with the research process. Attendees of her session will be able to learn how to utilize research assignments and discussion prompts to guide students to critical engagement with information.
Additional topics to be discussed include getting started with Canvas, migrating Blackboard content into Canvas, teaching with Canvas, and more.
