The rules, and possibly the game, are changing
As a faculty member teaching environmental chemistry, I rarely paid attention to federal legislation involving higher education. My job, after all, was to teach, do research, and participate in service. I knew little about the process of accreditation other than having to provide my CV and the syllabi of my courses to the department once a year. What did “they” actually do with them anyway? Attennntion! Faculty Boot Camp Starts May 23
Registration is now open for this one-week training course that will provide you with the fundamentals and certification for teaching online at UMKC. Coverage includes Blackboard basics, accessibility, online policies and procedures, and educational technologies such as Panopto, Voicethread, and Collaborate. Seasoned online instructors will be on hand to offer help, demonstrate time saving tips and tricks, and suggest effective strategies for moving your course online.
The boot camp is free to any UMKC instructor and is recommended for those with little or no experience with online teaching or Blackboard. Individuals wishing to become online certified and who want more training on the technologies and best practices for teaching online are encouraged to attend.
