NetTutor Online Tutoring Gets a New Look for 2018

NetTutor is a free service for UMKC students that offers a variety of modes to obtain online help. From Spanish to biology, students can receive tutoring in more than 28 topics.

There are three types of tutoring with NetTutor: paper center, Q&A center, or one-on-one live tutoring.

  • The paper center is where a student can submit a paper for review. A tutor will review the paper and return the paper with feedback within 24 hours.
  • The Q&A center is where students can go to ask NetTutor a general question and they will get a text response.
  • The one-to-one live tutoring allows the student to sign in to the subject of his/her choice and meet with a tutor for 1:1 help. In the room, the student can instant message the tutor, write or type on the whiteboard, and even upload math problems or images.

For the fall 2017 semester, the top subjects in NetTutor have been statistics, calculus, and chemistry. In 2018 NetTutor will be changing its interface. There will be a new look to the current version. More will be announced in 2018. To learn more about NetTutor, visit the Student Online Tutoring webpage.
