On August 17, UMKC Online will host the four top names in the field of state authorization and distance education for a one-day State Authorization Summit.
Luminaries include Marshall Hill, executive director of NC-SARA; Cheryl Dowd, director of the WCET State Authorization Network; Russell Poulin, director of policy and analysis at WCET; and Leroy Wade, interim commissioner of the Coordinating Board for Higher Education. The four guest speakers will be on hand to discuss hot topics in the field of state authorization, including:
- Department of Defense MOU
- Current trends in state regulations
- New regulations proposed by the Department of Education
- SARA (State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement)
- Q & A with guest speakers
The State Authorization Summit is the kick-off event for MoKanSan, the Missouri Kansas State Authorization Network, which brings universities and colleges in the two states together for networking and informational opportunities. Modeled after WCET’s State Authorization Network, MoKanSan disseminates pertinent information to its members regarding the latest news and updates for state authorization of distance education.
The one-day conference is free and open to anyone in the state authorization or distance education field.
Registration closes August 4. For conference details and complete program, visit online.umkc.edu/mokansan/.
