Whether you are new to the world of Canvas or just want to explore the LMS more in-depth, make plans to attend the upcoming UMKC Summer Conference: Welcome to Canvas.

The conference will take place Friday, July 26th, at the Kauffman Conference Center, 4801 Rockhill Road.

Topics to be covered at the conference include an overview of Canvas, mobile apps, and tools of the trade, all designed to make the Canvas experience positive for both the faculty members and the students.

One such conference session will be “Panopto—Everything You Needed to Know But Were Afraid to Ask”. Panopto is a lecture capture tool that allows you to record and share lectures with students asynchronously. Panopto videos can help support learning in face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. In this session, Instructional Designer Torie Wynn will illustrate how instructors can set up their recorder, create video content, edit content for viewers, and share videos with their students in Canvas.

“Panopto can seem quite intimidating at first glance,” Wynn said. “This session will help instructors start off on the right foot when it comes to recording their lectures.”

Registration to attend the conference is free and lunch will be provided to those who have registered. Reserve your space today:  https://ecommerce.umkc.edu/onlineworkshops/home/workshopDetail/344
