One of my favorite features in Canvas is the “message students who…” option in the grade center. This option allows you to send a reminder or kudos to students.
To get to the message students who feature, first go to your grades tab then click on the three dots next to the column you would like to send the reminder.
Next, click on message students who… this will display a new screen with a drop-down menu of options. You can message:
- Students who have not submitted the assignment yet
- Submissions that have not been graded
- Scored less than a certain score (see image below for an example)
- Scored more than a certain score
This feature comes in handy if you want to give kudos to your students or send them a quick reminder without having to tell the entire class if they have already completed the assignment.
