Customizing your course menu is the key to a well-organized course in Canvas. A customized course menu helps to organize your course content and control the flow of information for your students. The course menu is located on the left-hand side of your course.

When organizing your course menu, you’ll first want to decide which menu items to show to students and which items to hide. To do this,

  1. Log-in to Canvas at https://umkc.instructure.com.
  2. Select and open the course you would like to customize from your Canvas Dashboard.
  3. Select Settings from the bottom of the course menu. (Note: The Settings button will always appear at the bottom of your course menu and is never available to student users.)
