Add/Drop/Withdrawal
Plans change, and you may need to add, drop or withdraw from online courses for any number of reasons. We'll help you find the best path forward for you.
Discuss Your Options First
Adding, dropping or withdrawing can have an impact on your degree path or your financial aid. Remember you can always talk to your academic advisor or your financial aid advisor if you aren’t sure about your next steps.
Add
You may add classes to your schedule on your own through the first week of the semester. Learn more about the process for adding a class.
Drop
UMKC allows you to drop classes within a few parameters. Learn more about the process for dropping a class.
Withdraw
If you wish to withdraw from all of your UMKC classes for a semester, you must complete an exit interview questionnaire.
Financial Implications of Dropping or Withdrawing
You are financially responsible for all course-related fees at the time of enrollment. The longer you wait to drop or withdraw, the smaller your refund or fee assessment will be. Contact the Cashiers Office with any questions about your refund or fee assessment.
