As an instructor, there are tools and features to provide in your course to support students. Courses should offer instructions and descriptions of learner support services available such as academic services, technical support, and accessibility policies.

Academic Support
Online students should have access to academic support services in a course. Services include information on advising, registration, tutoring, counseling, and career services. The course instructions should articulate or link to an explanation of the institution’s academic support services and resources, such as UMKC Connect and tutoring, that can help learners succeed.

Technical Support
Your course instructions should communicate or link to a clear description of technical support offered and how to get it. Online students should have ready access to technical support services. Provide students with technology standards and help desk contact information in your courses at UMKC.

Accessibility Policies and Services
Course instructions should offer information to the institution’s accessibility policies. All courses should have an accommodations statement that lists the services or accommodations available with contact information.
